June Winner: OMNA
Entrepreneurship is about creating financial freedom, and we want to help our fellow veterans make it happen! That’s why we created the StreetShares Commander’s Call Veteran Business Award.This month’s winner is OMNA. OMNA is a Veteran-owned business that has created a tourniquet leash for surfers—enabling them to not only maintain their surf boards, but also be prepared to stop arterial bleeding in the event of a shark attack. In light of recent events, this is an awesome and innovative product we’d love to see surfers everywhere adopt.OMNA’s StoryOMNA Founder Carson Henderson is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who came up with the idea for his product while he was on a surfing trip.
OMNA’s mission is to revolutionize surfing, water sports and any sport or recreation that could benefit from their products by eliminating the “what if” factor.

About Commander’s Call: Each month, Veteran and military spouse owned small businesses who apply for pre-approval for a business loan on StreetShares.com will be entered for the award. Entries will be considered for the award for the month in which they submit their loan application. Businesses that enter are evaluated based on market need, product or service competitiveness, and potential mass appeal. The winner each month is chosen by a panel led by StreetShares advisor and former Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, General George Casey, and awarded $5,000 to help grow their business.
