Reports indicate that four children being towed behind a boat on a tube were injured when the boat operator made a turn, which caused the tube to collide with the boat. Of the four children 3 were injured. One child was lucky to jump out of the way. The ages of the three injured children are 6, and 8 years old, and one child was airlifted to UT Medical Center, and the other 2 injured were taken by ambulance to LaFollette Medical Center. TWRA is currently investigating the incident.
Propeller injuries such as this are why you should always have at least 1 or more Marine Tourniquets with you or on your boat. Remember not all tourniquets are the same, marine environments require specific specifications for tourniquet durability.
